Reviving a Dormant Stability LIMS System for Efficient Workflows

Our client had implemented a Stability LIMS solution several years ago but never configured or validated it for their intended purposes. They continued using manual, paper-based workflows for managing stability studies. We stepped in to understand the system, gather requirements, configure, validate, and provide training and ongoing support.

Challenge:

The client faced challenges in utilizing their existing LIMS solution due to a lack of expertise and proper configuration. The system remained dormant, leading to continued reliance on inefficient paper-based workflows. Additionally, the LIMS solution was relatively lesser-known, making it difficult to find experts who could effectively utilize it.

Approach:

We contacted the LIMS vendor to gain an understanding of the system and gathered requirements from the client. We then configured the system based on the knowledge acquired and the clients’ needs. Our team validated the system, ensuring it was fit for purpose and compliant with the required standards.

Implementation:

The project was completed in less than five months as a managed service, employing a hybrid approach with the majority of work completed by offshore resources. Our project lead became an expert in the system, creating multiple training guides for users as an additional service. This streamlined the transition from paper-based workflows to the LIMS solution

Outcomes:

The successful revival of the dormant Stability LIMS solution led to improved efficiency and satisfaction among users. The client benefited from a more streamlined workflow, reduced reliance on manual processes, and ongoing support for their LIMS system.

Lessons Learned:

Even a lesser-known LIMS solution can be effectively utilized with the right expertise and guidance. A combination of vendor collaboration, requirements gathering, configuration, validation, and user training can lead to the successful implementation and adoption of a LIMS system, improving efficiency and reducing reliance on manual workflows.
